Hello Everyone! Summer is winding down but Ivy Thimble is bursting with all sorts of news and new ‘stuff’ at the shop!!! FIRST – mark your calendars to stop in at the shop THIS Saturday, August 11. Pat will be demonstrating throughout the day how to do those EASY tablerunners using the gorgeous stripe fabrics that we all love but don’t know what to do with them. We’ll have lots of kits to choose from or you can choose from fabric we’ll have on display for you. Stop in any time Saturday to get a FREE lesson on how to make these great runners!! * * * * * * * * * * If you haven’t visited the shop recently make it a MUST on your list of to do – we’re FULL of all sorts of holiday ideas, samples and LOADS of kits! Come soon for the best selection and more importantly get those kits now so you can finish them for THIS Christmas! * * * * * * * * * * * * We’ve been busy making new jelly rolls! We now have Halloween jelly rolls as well as Christmas and new batiks jelly rolls. You can do a 1600 quilt just in time for Halloween! * * * * * * * * * * * * Something new from Robert Kaufman – they now have that wonderful fabric, “SNOW” that we all love to use as our background in many quilts…they have it in 1-1/2” strips – all cut and ready for you to use as your sashing in your quilt! How easy is that?!?! * * * * * * * * * * * * We’ve trained you to be using that wonderful Aurifil thread for piecing your quilt … Guess what?? We now carry the neutral colors in the LARGER spools!! The spools you have been using has just over 1400yds of thread….these have 6000yds of thread!! We also have the thread stands to put these on right next to your machine…you’ll never run out of your piecing thread! Everyone has to have at least ONE! * * * * * * * * * * * * * I’d like to give a special Thank You to the gals of Ivy Cares! This group meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of EVERY month to volunteer their time putting together quilts for us to donate to organizations in need. These ladies haven’t missed a day and the quilts they design with donated fabric is amazing! If anyone has a free Monday they would like to help these ladies, feel free to bring your machine and give them some of your talent and time.
